Job Title: Community Program Facilitator

Description: The Community Program Facilitator will be responsible for maintaining and growing our Community Program by recruiting participants, organizing activities, and building relationships with community members, volunteers and organizations.

Specifications: Part-time role; 15 hours per week; $25.00 per hour

Who We Are: Heads Up for Inclusion is a non-profit, local to Peterborough, Ontario. We strive to create inclusive and accessible spaces for people with and without disabilities to socialize, build friendships and have fun. For 25 years, we have been operating the Amigos Program in schools, and have just recently relaunched our Community Program, following the COVID-19 pandemic.

Heads Up for Inclusion seeks to encourage full and meaningful community participation and belonging of any individual facing barriers to inclusion.

What We Are Looking For: A creative, self-driven individual to help us grow our program. The role will draw on the following skills:

  • Event Planning: Work with venue, transportation and community partners to organize location, date, time and details of events to be shared with participants
  • Communication: Liaise with partner organizations, communicate through e-mail, phone and in-person meetings, to help facilitate activities with Community Program participants
  • Recruitment: Visit community organizations to advertise the program and activities, encouraging community members to join as program participants or volunteer.
  • Program Development: Collect feedback from participants and volunteers on events and activities, giving opportunities for program growth and continued success.
