Heads Up for Inclusion Receives Support from Local Real Estate Association!

December 4th, 2018

In November of this year Heads Up for Inclusion was pleased to be the recipient of a donation from The Peterborough and Kawarthas Association of Realtors through the REALTORS Care Foundation to support local inclusion programs.

“Inclusion in our schools and community is something that persons with barriers to inclusion in our area struggle with daily”, said John McNutt, Board Chair of Heads Up for Inclusion, “Our programs focus on improving the lives of persons with barriers in the Greater Peterborough area through providing peer interaction, mentorship, and quality inclusion programming”

Heads Up for Inclusion has been facilitating the Amigos program in local schools since 2002. The Amigos program brings together students who are facing various barriers to inclusion, with well-connected students in their own school. Students come together once per week over a lunch hour and participate in fun activities, all while developing connections and meaningful friendships. Recently Heads Up for Inclusion began an Amigos program in the community focussed on helping people who experience difficulties with inclusion become more connected with peers their own age.

“Donations such as the one we received from The Peterborough and Kawarthas Association of Realtors help keep our programs flowing and available to those in our community who need them the most. The Peterborough and Kawarthas Association of Realtors has provided support for our programming since 2013, and we can’t express how much this donation means to our small organization and program participants!” said John McNutt.

Thanks to PKAR and REALTORS Care Foundation for believing in our organization and the power of inclusion!
